Treatment Engineering for Highly Complex Aerospace Effluents.
This project involved the design, fabrication, assembly, and commissioning of a Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) for a major aerospace manufacturing complex in the city of Tijuana, B.C. The main challenge lay in treating a heterogeneous flow consisting of combined sanitary wastewater and process effluents containing high concentrations of heavy metals, synthetic oils, and residues from chemical washing operations.
The implemented solution incorporates a rigorous preliminary physicochemical treatment system followed by a continuous MBBR biological system. Thanks to this comprehensive approach, the plant operates at optimal efficiency, discharging water that far exceeds Mexican environmental regulations and enabling significant water reuse in cooling towers and secondary services.
